Why are organic tortillas special?

Our tortillas are made with certified organic corn which is a nutrient-packed food that can be a great addition to a healthy diet. With vitamins B1, B5, C, and folate, as well as phosphorus and manganese, it offers a range of health benefits. Additionally, organic corn is low in calories and cholesterol, making it a great choice for those looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Its phytonutrient and antioxidant contents also vary depending on the color of the corn, making it a versatile and nutritious food!

What's the difference between organic and inorganic corn tortillas?

Organic production requires the use of certified organically produced seed. No seed may be treated with synthetic chemicals, and genetically modified hybrids (GMOs), such as 'Bt' or 'Roundup Ready' corn.

Do organic corn tortillas last the same as regular corn tortillas?

Our organic corn tortillas as our commercial corn tortillas do not contain artificial preservatives, food dyes or flavours and need to be refrigerated as soon as possible after buying them, but organic corn tortillas tend to be more delicate and cannot be expected to last the same as regular tortillas, especially the blue ones. Our recommendation is to consume them as fast as possible and keep them refrigerated at all times protected inside a closed plastic bag to prevent from dryness. For blue corn tortillas, a change in color from blue to purple can be expected, this is proof our tortillas are made with real blue corn and not flour.
